On days where the sun shone brightly, the water in the bay shimmered & sparkled, our ride around KK’s waterfront revealed a gentler, kinder malaysia, where towns are well organised, not polluted (Kuching was spotless), the food delicious and the girls are pretty. In these 2 east malaysian cities, where the population is evenly distributed by the malays, chinese and indigenous tribes, I felt more cohesiveness and more warmth than the racial polarities simmering beneath the skins of the mainlanders back in the west.

I took in the sights in KK just a any tourist would, and on my way to sepangar in a taxi the long stretch by the bay revealed lovely vistas, and a wish that I could stay a little bit longer.
